March 9, 2019 marked the end of the 31st annual Midwestern Robotics Design Competition. Since the first competition in 1987, we’ve relied on outside support and this year was no exception.
Each year the committee uses donor funds to design and construct the competition course. Previous expenses included safety equipment, transportation, building materials, and hardware, all of which require a significant financial commitment.
The main beneficiaries of the funds we receive are the students we host the competition for. Every competitor that participates is eager to learn and improve upon his or her own technical and interpersonal skills. The committee is devoted to ensuring the success of this competition because we believe in the impact this kind of competition has on STEM students and their development.
By deciding to support and fund the Midwestern Robotics Design Competition, you are investing in the future. The students that participate in this competition are going to become leading experts in their fields with your support. The MRDC is a unique robotics competition. It was one of the first competitions of its kind 28 years ago and has, since then, provided an essential environment to foster growth and progress in our nation’s youth
